Whenever you need a break, the sparkling waters and shores of the Hawaiian Islands are a tropical and inviting haven. There is something to see and do at every turn, on land and sea. Sit on the beach and bask in the sun or enjoy an indoor activity. For an immersive experience, take a snorkel trip with Kona Snorkel Trips.

Nighttime Manta Ray Snorkel

Swim the waters near Garden Eel Cove in the evening in pursuit of manta rays. You’ll explore with an experienced, Lifeguard Certified guide on the two-hour trip. Trip time changes with sunset times. You must be at least five years old and able to swim or stay afloat without assistance, and no non-swimmers are allowed on this excursion. A mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, and additional flotation devices are included in the cost.

Captain Cook Snorkeling Tour

Plunge into the water near Kealakekua Bay’s Captain Cook Monument. Learn about the history of the area before jumping in to snorkel with tropical fish, stunning coral, and other underwater creatures. Basic swimming skills are required to enter the water. Non-swimmers are welcome to enjoy the stunning Kona coastline and relax in the sun. Mask, snorkel, fins, and additional flotation devices are provided. The trip lasts four hours from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Kealakekua Bay & Manta Ray Snorkeling

Combine two of the best snorkeling trips. Start your day with the Kealakekua Bay trip, then come back at sunset to search for manta rays. Trips can be booked same-day or separately. Each trip is the full experience.

Deluxe Kailua-Kona Morning Snorkel

Head out in the morning for a snorkel that keeps you a little closer to shore. Choose from eight coral reefs within 15 minutes of Honokohau harbor. Be prepared to see dolphins, manta rays, whales, and even sharks. The excursion is from 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. and includes mask, snorkel, fins, additional flotation devices, as well as drinks and snacks between dive locations.

Whale Watching

If you’re not a snorkeler, consider a whale watching tour. Head out in pursuit of humpback whales and other large marine mammals. Make sure to bring binoculars and cameras with zoom lenses for stunning photos on the two-hour trip. It’s an unforgettable experience everyone can enjoy!

Pawai Bay

Take a “sea-fari” to Pawai Bay, and experience tropical fish, stunning coral, and other sea life you can see at the busier Kealakekua Bay without all the crowds. The two-hour trip is from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and includes mask, snorkel, fins, and additional flotation.

Private Experiences

Spend time with your loved ones on a private snorkel or swim tour just for you. Visit beautiful reefs, glimpse whales and other sea life, or even say goodbye to a loved one who has passed on with a special ash scattering ceremony at sea.
